Studies and surveys had shown that consumers in ever increasing numbers, are searching online for your goods and services. So it is very important that we understand exactly what they want to know when they do come to our website or even see one of our ads online.
Consumers want:

Let Your Prospective Customers Know What You Sell
Let Them Know If They Came To The Right Place
If you are just bringing your local business online, start thinking like one of your customers, look around your shop or store and pick something that you have for sale. Now how do we find a buyer for that product or service? The easy way and the best way is to start thinking like one of your prospective customers. Do they want to know that you have been in business since 1972, are a member of your local Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau, and a member of the school board? I really doubt it very much, you could put that on your about page or your own personal page, but right now most prospects don’t care how many children you have, what your wife’s name is, where you graduated from, or that you graduated with honors.

On the Internet people want to know if you have what they’re looking for, is it the right brand, do you have enough of it, maybe a few details about it and perhaps how it will be delivered. So let’s pick something, I choose hay, I want to sell some hay and I want to let people know about it, so let me show you what I do to sell my mythical hay crop, let me count the ways. First make a decision on what it is that you want to reinvent or change about yourself. Next start making a conscious effort to change your moment by moment actions concerning the changes you want to make. With enough repetitions your conscious mind will convince your unconscious mind to take over your new habits and the new you will be on autopilot.
It all starts with the realization that some part of your life is not working the way you want it to. Just look at the books being purchased today and you will see most of them address changes we would like to see in our lives. How to diet, how to speak in public, how to control our anger, how to be organized. Seems like the list is endless, however ,one change can be introduced into your life at one time, just realized something has to change and work on that one thing.
Start using your conscious mind, in order to do this we must be conscious of what is happening in our own life. We often use our conscious mind to determine how others should make changes in their life, but this has no upside for yourself, you need to make conscious decisions that will change things for the better in your own life. If I am too fat, it’s not my concern that the neighbor kid is smoking pot, I need to deal with my weight issue. Consciously I need to observe my own actions and start making healthy choices that lead to weight loss. If I consciously make the right decisions on a consistent basis I will educate my unconscious mind.
The reason we have things in our life that don’t work the way we would like them to is because we are making unconscious choices that no longer work for us. How do we we educate our unconscious mind, we simply make conscious choices based on repetition and consistency to develop a new pattern for our unconscious mind to use. Look at all the steps involved in getting your car and driving to the grocery store to buy some milk. We drive to our local version of a quickie Mart to buy something we ran out of and hurry home and never give it any conscious thought. Pretty much our unconscious mind knew how to do that because we’ve done it enough times before, all of the conscious decision-making was gone and our unconscious mind to do it on autopilot.
So want to reinvent yourself? Make a conscious decision what it is you want to change in your life, practice making those choices necessary for that change on a consistent basis, and eventually your subconscious mind will handle it all for you. Check on your life once a while to make sure that the unconscious decisions you are making right now are in line with your life vision.

If you have a bad habit, you may be an excellent candidate to reinvent yourself. Let me explain, bad habits or choices are usually involuntary, at least in the moment. Yes you developed the bad habit on a conscious level at one time perhaps years ago usually for a reason you no longer remember, and now you want to change it. You are already a professional at creating habits, now let’s be selected in create good ones.
This process can be very simple simply choose a bad habit you want to change and make a choice of the good habit you want to replace it with. Through the use of repetition on a consistent basis you can achieve success. The great news is once you are aware of this process you can repeat it over and over again to completely reinvent yourself.
I had a bad habit of smoking, I mean really bad, like five packs a day bad, and it lasted for over 20 years. One day, I consciously decided to quit smoking, that was the first step, I did enlist the help of the American heart and lung Association seminar to assist me in creating new a new habit to replace the habit of smoking. That new habit was simply stating to myself that smoking was no longer an option.
I had to repeat the phrase “smoking is no longer an option” for months before my subconscious mind took over and did it automatically for me with absolutely no conscious thought on my part. I have now gone 23 years without a cigarette all on autopilot because “smoking is no longer an option”.
I used this same exact system to overcome the bad habit of a job, or working for someone else. And again at some point in my life I made a decision that I had to work for someone else, and it became a real habit it lasted for years. I woke up one day and decided this bad habit had to come to a screeching halt, again made a conscious decision to replace that job deal with becoming self-employed. It took me six months of searching for the right opportunity for my own business, and probably another six months of daily affirmation of my new status as self-employed before my subconscious mind took over and automatically made me a true entrepreneur rather than an employee.
So choose either a bad habit or an action that no longer serves you and decide which one you want to replace it with. Do the new action consistently and repeat for as long as necessary, usually at least 21 times and sometimes longer, until you have formed a new habit that automatically serves you better.

Many small businesses have gone by the wayside during the present down economy, which is one of the nicer words you can call it. Many small businesses have discovered the benefits of bringing their business online to better service their present customers and to expand their pool of prospects.
We have a hardware store here locally that has withstood the competition of several big-name hardware outlets. They did this by providing better service and customized inventory purchases for their present customers, and expanding their marketing to the Internet. Where they sell small hand tools worldwide. Believe it or not the United States actually produces some of the cheapest hand tools available in the world. This little hardware store spends $75,000 a month on Google adwords, I didn’t ask for their profit margins but I’m sure they are substantial.
Now how did this little hardware store do this, well they had an employee that saw the possibilities in developing an online presence for them. This employee of course has gone on to establish a business of his own and I believe still acts as a consultant to the hardware store.
Software advances and better programming, has put technology into the hands of the small business person if they choose to use it. Some small business owners have their hands full just managing their day to day operations, but they still have the option of outsourcing the Internet work at very reasonable prices.
Like anything new that deals with technology, online marketing may seem like too big a hurdle for the average small business owner, so they continue to throw their money away with yellow page ads, newspaper ads, magazine advertising, and of course radio and TV, none of which produced the results available with online marketing.
I encourage you as a small business owner to explore the possibilities of bringing your small local business online, and taking advantage of this new marketing opportunity, so your small business not only survives, but flourishes in this down economy
